Bake & Pray: Epiphany

  • Uvalde Methodist Church 301 N . High Street Uvalde, TX (map)

“All throughout Scripture, bread serves as a sign of God’s blessing. It marks God’s presence and provision, as well as God’s promises to us. Bread is a narrative tool God uses to tell us the story of God’s work in the world.”
- Kendall Vanderslice, “Bake & Pray” pg. 3

The next Bake & Pray event will be held on Saturday, March 1st, at 1 pm in the UMC gym to bake King’s Cake and celebrate Epiphany!

Join Travis Johnson, UMC Director of Youth, and bake your way through the church calendar by following the teachings in “Bake & Pray” by Kendall Vanderslice, which also includes the history of the different recipes and church holidays. It focuses on using baking time as a spiritual practice to pray and meditate on God. Hopefully, this practice will transfer to the other routine tasks we do every day.

This is the second meeting of the year, and more to come! All ages and baking experiences are welcome to join. Bring your friends, bring your kids and grandkids, and let’s have some fun baking together!
