Prayer Service to Commemorate Memorial Benches

  • City of Uvalde Town Square 106 West Roberts Lane Uvalde, TX, 78801 United States (map)

A creative team from Eastman, Georgia, led by Sean Peacock, has handcrafted memorial benches for every victim of the May 24 tragedy at Robb Elementary School. The team is delivering these memorial benches to the families this week and will hold a prayer service at the Uvalde Town Square before the first delivery. The community of Uvalde is invited to join.

“The benches are carved out of south Georgia pine, with a butterfly design, featuring a laser engraved photograph inside the backrest, and a personalized inscription on the seat. Butterfly antennae are solar lights that illuminate the bench at night. Each of the attachments are made of stainless steel, and the benches measure about 50 inches when fully assembled.” (Melissa Federspill, Uvalde Leader-News, June 26, 2022)
