The Wedding Cookie Table Community has come together from across the nation to send love and support to our community. Please come by Sacred Heart Catholic Church to pick up some sweets and other gifts from long-distance neighbors.

“The Wedding Cookie Table Community” is a Facebook Community of over 100,000 members, preparing cookie tables to mark weddings and life occasions in our own lives, happy and sad. Our members from across the Country came together to send love and support, preparing this cookie table for you because we care.”

HISTORY OF THE COOKIE TABLE
“In the late 1800s and early 1900s, European immigrants settled the region where PA, WV and OH meet, seeking jobs in the mills and mines. People who spoke many different languages came together as a community. They marked the cycle of life together, from Christenings to weddings and funerals. To these gatherings, people brought cookies representing their own ethnic traditions. Cookies became a universal language. As jobs left our region, so did many residents who took the tradition with them and now share it across the Country. At this time of unspeakable tragedy, know that friends from many states whom you have never met, stand with you and support you as you grieve. We care about you and want to comfort you and surround you with love in the best way we know how...with our cookies.”
