Dr. Jim Gardner, Ph.D., LPC, is returning to Uvalde from Saturday, May 20th through Saturday, June 3rd, to help community members overcome feelings of grief, anger, shame, sadness, depression, and anxiety. He uses the prayer principle of the Set Free Prayer Ministry to help people overcome these emotions associated with trauma so they can experience genuine peace and strengthen their relationships. Dr. Gardner is available for free individual counseling sessions for those requesting it from Saturday, May 20th, until Saturday, June 3rd. Please text Dr. Gardner at 918-413-5475 to schedule an appointment.
On Saturday, May 27th, he will be holding a public event at El Progreso Uvalde Memorial Library from 10:30 to 2:00 pm. He will be sharing with the public an effective faith-based way to find healing of grief, anger, fear, and shame from the shooting on May 24th, 2022, and will use local residents to share personal testimonies of how they were set free from these emotions. Lunch will be provided at noon, then Dr. Gardner will give a live demonstration of how to overcome grief, anger, and shame. Seven local prayer ministers will be present to meet with attendees privately.
Special Education Teacher, Michelle Miller, will be present to read from her children's book series and teach children how to overcome feelings of grief, anger, and shame from 12:30 to 2:00 in the children's section of the library.
